Compression Springs are open-coil helical springs made to compressed along the axis of wind, that offers resistance to a compressive force applied axially. Helical Compression is the most common metal spring produced. These coil springs can work independently, though often assembled over a guide rod or fitted inside a hole or over the rod. When you put a load on a compression coil spring, making it shorter, it pushes back against the load and tries to get back to its original length or origin of the point. Compression springs offer resistance to linear compressing forces (push). They are usually coiled at a constant diameter, though they can be coiled in other needed forms such as conical, concave (barrel), convex (hourglass), or various combinations as per the requirement. Compression springs are used to resist force and/or store energy, depending upon the application. All compression springs are fabricated from round wire.

Common Spring Material

• Spring Steel Gr- II (IS-4454), known as ASTM A227 (International Standard). Also it is known as Hard Drawn MB Wire.
• Stainless Steel --? SS 302/ 304/ 316 generally used for Corrosion, High Strength & Heat treatment.
• Inconel X750 / 718 / 625 / 600 generall used for Good corrosion resistance at moderately elevated temperature.
